To get a good idea of what i wanted to design, i drew some simple silhouettes wearing stereotypical mechanics overalls, i then placed them over specification sheets and drew them out as designs, this gave a great effect and i became interested in the different things you can achieve using light. i loved the layered effect from the images wanted to investigate with projection and light further.

I then used found bits of metal to layer on top of the drawings, to give an embellished look.

My College teaches automotive and engineering courses and is one of the largest funded schemes and partnership with the Manchester college, i visited the workshop and was greeted by the kindest man, he politely granted i take photos and insisted he would show me around the workshop.he also individually told me what every piece of machinery was and what it was/ used to be used for, but i wasn’t quick enough to note it all down and only caught a few things.

Also some were just nicely painted for display.

After Teaching restarted, and i had enough photographs i was offered some old scraps they were throwing away, screws, nuts, bolts, wires, metal boxes, which would absolutely help me achieve my desired look. I customized a clean silver metal chain with rusted screws and bolts and styled it as a necklace, after that a few bracelets followed

Automated Robotic Methods are given a human touch in this industrial look that realizes the beauty of Machinery.

My main aim is to develop and extend my specialist subject skills and realize my creative potential through personal research, experimentation and communication of ideas using specialist art and design media

After finally realizing i wanted to focus more on the Styling side of things regarding my FMP, i decided this was appropriate as this is the part i find most exciting and wanted my end of college project to be an enjoyable experience. Initially i thought tonal blues, browns and metallics and 100% wanted to customize the garments used in my photographs. i wanted the styling and photography both to be my own work.

I toyed with the idea of using Laser cutting, leather, treated denim and raw edges on my garments, but definitely wanted them to be made with a ‘D.I.Y’ attitude and ‘London street’ target market

ImageDuring the Process i will create and Re-style a number of garments for my final photoshoot, using various materials some shop bought, some found, but mostly recycled from old machinery and engines
