Mechanical, a brief written by myself in order to explore my skills and show off my knowledge of fashion, in completion of my 2 year college course and transition to salford university studying Fashion Styling and Image Making.

The purpose was to produce a range of outcomes in my chosen area, as an aspiring stylist i had already decided styling was what i wanted to do, aswell as take full controll over everything in between, obviously. after choosing a theme and some form of direction to give all of my ideas purpose and meaning, i was able to further develop them into a clear Concept and i could predict my outcome. I got the majority of my ideas and objective from visiting car garages and workshops using machines, firstly just to draw shapes and colour stories from the machinery but then i began studying the uniforms  this caused me to get inspiration from oil stains, ripped overalls and steel toe capped boots.

Using my wide range of skills learnt i had used multiple media to produce a range of outcomes. initially i only expected to produce a range of photographs in which id styled the models to my specific taste, but after gathering more and more research i opened my mind and also created a range of accessories and customised 3 whole outfits to get to my final photo shoot  in the development stage i used the Lightbox to transfer lines of of engine specification drawings onto design sheets, this was to decide on the final overall suits in my photos, whilst doing this i decided to play around more with light and projection and enjoyed projecting parts of engines and machines onto my models because i loved the effect of human skin and such detailed machines combined into a photograph. I also did a number of my final pictures in a studio taking full control of studio lighting and shot all my images myself on a Canon 5D Mark 3.

In conclusion i exceeded my expectations regarding my finished brief. Im extremely happy because i didnt have to adapt my ideas in anyway, only push them to produce more.
